THE ATELIER
The enchantment of colors, the craftsmanship of the work, the tradition of artistic technique. These are just a few of the distinctive qualities of the artworks on display in the Artefice Atelier workshop, a precious repository of ideas and a magnet for those who appreciate surrounding themselves with original and one-of-a-kind objects.
The process of shaping an object turns an imaginative concept into reality. Skillful hands work with clay and water, seemingly conjuring the desired forms with an almost magical touch.
Shaping can be accomplished using a potter's wheel, shaping tools, and, at times, molds are also employed.
2) After being left to dry for several days, the object reaches the stage known as 'leather-hardness' and is then prepared for its initial firing, which takes place at a temperature of approximately 1000°C, referred to as 'biscuit firing.
3) Following the biscuit firing, the object is coated with glaze and readied for painting. Depending on the circumstances, this process can involve dipping or spraying.
4) This phase of the production process is where the artist truly shines, often allowing creativity and color to take center stage.
5) The entire production process culminates in a second firing, typically at a temperature of around 920°C. This firing enhances the vibrancy of the colors and preserves the artwork for centuries.
6) In some cases, a third firing may be employed to create special chromatic effects through unique glazing techniques.
7) Each individual piece of ceramic is meticulously packaged in custom-designed, detail-oriented packaging that not only provides protection but also imparts a sense of uniqueness to the product.
